Happy New Year and all the very best for 2012.
We had a great start with a Meet-the-Author Event at Books Kinokuniya, Orchard on Saturday 7th Jan 2012.
According to Kino, they were very pleased with the crowd turnout – “much bigger crowd than usual” they said. This is quite remarkable as my publisher and I did not contact any friends/family/well-wishers for ‘support’. As you know, none of you were alerted and we do apologise for this. We wanted to ‘test’ the raw market and were pleased with the turnout and book sales.

I had read this author’s business books. There are many books in the market touching on similar topics but none like these. This author’s books provide definite ‘take-away’ ideas that one can put to use immediately. What is more, he starts from the position that the reader has no prior knowledge or expertise on the subject. His style is to slowly build up the subject in a comfortable and unhurried manner. Thank you, Mr Alagan
Thank you Shirley.
The author, Eric Alagan, wrote 5 books into 2 years, which is rich by any measure. In addition these are substantial works and one is really reaching a best seller list. I read Code Shield and believe, when people recognize its abilities, the novels reach also the best-seller list. As striving author I would like to do as he it did. Make please some advice available for me – I write in German.
Hello Pieter, I notice from your email that you’re writing from the Czech Republic.
The business books are based on my experience garnered over 40 years in the corporate world. The models in each book are those which I developed and employed successfully in my career. When I started writing these books, they were relatively smooth flowing – so to speak.
Thank you for your hope about the novels. The novels were tougher but borrowed on my business travels and dealings. I also happen to be a keen observer.
Though you say two years, these works have been forty years in the making. In that sense, I can hardly be called ‘prolific.’
When it comes to the actual writing, ultimately, I suppose the clichés and key words are: perseverance and discipline.
I was at your book launch. How come not listed as news item?
Hello Literati – updated as news item. Thanks for pointing out.

Hello Jane – I’ll be at Kinokuniya Books (Orchard) on Saturday 7th Jan 2012 @ 2.00 to 3.00 pm. Hope to see you there.
